When it comes to interior design I love modern elements as much as I love classic, heritage aesthetics. You would have to be a genius to be able to appeal to someone who likes apples as much as oranges… oh, wait… you mean geniuses like Roman & Williams? Roman & Williams is a New York City design firm that works on interior build out and design as well as exterior and architecture design.

Below is just a few of some of my favorite pieces of their work…

I love the Beach Boys, and I also love when my friends make music inspired by the Beach Boys! Presenting… Fort Christmas. Feathers by Fort Christmas is the discovery of happiness by singer/songwriter Jeremy Larson as he takes us on an adventure with the love of his life from first date to engagement. It is beautiful, happy and will bring the sun out as it tends to hide behind the clouds during the fall and winter. Download the album today – Fort Christmas on Bandcamp!

Season 4 to Mad Men has come to a close – the season finale was full of surprises to say the least, but I won’t spoil anything here. After LOST had ended I was comforted to know that I still had a full season of Mad Men to keep me occupied, but now that season 4 has ended what am I to do?

Photographer James Minchin III gives us a peak behind the scenes of our beloved characters in and out of character.

George Lewis, Jr.’s Twin Shadow is of the moment, so it is hard to classify as genius… yet, but with draws from Depeche Mode and The Cure I find it refreshingly sentimental and will be a great album for the fall / winter season.

The mood is nostalgic, the bass lines keep me intrigued, the perfect blend of synth and electric guitars are a bed for Lewis’ vocals that Bowie fans would fall in love with. Listen to my favorite track “Slow” from the album Forget.

Beautiful motion work by Sharif Studio for LOVE magazine for their iPad digital version. I think its safe to say that we will start seeing more digital issues for fashion publications from here out AND I think its safe to say that motion work will be a necessary against the still photographs. Now I just need to find some time to start perfecting my motion work.

French designer, Hedi Slimane, who’s been an art director for Yves Saint Laurent and was creative director for Christian Dior has turned photographer – and a good one at that. Slimane captures some really great, almost quite, moments of New York City rockers The Drums.

I’m sure in a short amount of time you will come to find that I am a fan of Terry Richardson’s fashion work. While his personal stuff is completely distasteful, with his fashion work he is able to take a raw moment and turn it into gold. Here are some spreads from the June 2009 issue of Vogue.

It always interests me to see new technology mixed with classic goods. Take for example the Markr Carry Goods’ iPad case. The iPad, being super sleek and modern and the Makr, a classic handmade leather goods company, put together to make for an interesting combination – if I had an iPad… strike that, when I have an iPad be sure to know this would be its home.
