Over the weekend I watched the HBO mini-series, The Pacific. Produced by the same team as Band of Brothers, Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg once again keep me holed up on the couch for an entire weekend to watch 9 hours of back-to-back DVDs of this series.
Instead of showcasing stills from the series I decided to research and find some real photos of U.S. Marine Corps that fought in the Pacific — specifically Iwo Jima and Okinawa…

I’ve always wanted to have a fashion shoot in a super market. I love the rows of repeated product in the aisles that create a backdrop for the subjects. Plus the overhead fluorescent lighting and white glossy tile create kind of a sterile feel to the environment.

I do not think I am premature in saying that Kayne West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is hands down the best album of 2010. Twisted Fantasy has gotten rave reviews everywhere from Pitchfork’s 10/10 to Rolling Stone’s 5 star review — this album, along with it’s companion Runaway short film, showcases Kanye’s ability to transcend average hip-hop music and make a classic pop record.

I really do not want to set my hopes too high over this film because I’ve been anticipating TRON Legacy since it was announced almost over a year ago. There’s always the potential that this thing could flop with all the hype. The film comes out in theaters on December 17th so until then I have this amazing piece of art by Daft Punk to hold me over.
Below is a clip off the soundtrack that Daft Punk scored called “Recognizer” which is so perfectly cinematic but with that Daft-flavor.
Stella Artois commercial directed by Wes Anderson and Roman Coppola… mid-century modern goodness.
I don’t know why I have such an affinity for the movie Rocky. There is something unique about the time period of the late 70′s in Philadelphia — the locations, the way the scenes were shot, the clothing, the characters and I absolutely love the score by Bill Conti (yes the theme song, but my favorites are actually the slower pieces through out the movie). As a kid I grew up watching this film so I am sure there is a level of hidden sentiment that holds value with this movie.
By the way, did you know that Rocky was written by Sylvester Stallone? The American dream… Rocky.
